E-cigarette

I'd never heard of such a thing till I saw this video on BBC - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/video_and_audio/7658334.stm.

And then I read about it in wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-cigarette

The world is getting insane. That's for sure. This one contains nicotine too... but not as much, it claims and is a 'healthier' option. Why would one want to smoke an electronic device now? Of course the fairer question would be why one would want to smoke at all... With all the 'SMOKING KILLS' and every other sign brandished on the box, it's a big wonder that they still sell more than they used to at any given point in time. This, for a world thats supposedly more health conscious. Whatever!

Hi jaya

I agree to your point that why should anybody smoke in the firts place.

However i also wanted to raise a point that this e-cigarette should be seen as a tool that can help smokers to quit smoking. It is more like a nicotine pacth or a chewing gum that could help the smoker to stop smoking cigarretes.

PrivateMartin -> I suppose I do agree with you on that point. However it seems a very substitutional method... You know like giving a baby something else to chew on besides the thumb, instead of directly breaking the habit. Come to think of it, this is exactly like weaning!

The habit of smoking cannot be eradicated stright asway. its a slow process. one has to teach its brain that there is no need for nicotine. its an ongoing process and all about will power.

PrivateMartin -> You sound like someone who's suffered through giving it up. Interesting..
